Cloverbuds – designed for youth in the 1st and 2nd grade. Cloverbuds will try all kinds of different activities appropriate for their age. Cloverbuds are not eligible for the animal projects.

Exploring – designed for youth in the 3rd grade. Exploring is similar to Cloverbuds in that members “explore” a variety of projects. Exploring project members are eligible to show one animal at the county fair.

Animal Science – Beef, Goats, Dairy, Horse, Llama, Swine, Poultry, Sheep, Cats, Dogs, Rabbits, Pets/Small Animals and Veterinary Science.

Cultural Arts – Photography, Videography, Communications, Creative Writing, Jewelry Making, Arts & Crafts, Leather, Stenciling, Block Printing, Drawing and Painting, Ceramics & Pottery, Creative/Cross Stitchery, Graphic Art Design, Rubber Stamping, Theater Arts/Drama, Clowning, Puppetry and Music.

Home & Family – Child Development, Crocheting, Knitting, Clothing Construction, Health, Foods & Nutrition, Cake Decorating, Food Preservation, Home Environment, Consumer Savvy.

Mechanical Sciences – Aerospace, Model Rocketry, Building Skills (Legos, K’nex, etc), Scale Models, Bicycling, Electricity, Computer Technology, Small Engines, Tractors, Woodworking and Metal Fabrication.

Nature Space – Birds, Sportfishing, Entomology, Forestry, Wildflowers, Camping/Backpacking, Winter
Travel, Canoeing, Bicycling, Bee Keeping, Wildlife Habitat, Recycling.

Shooting Sports – Archery, .22 Rifle, Air-rifle.

Plant and Soil Science – Corn, Forage, Small Grains, Soybeans, Vegetables, Fruits, House Plants & Indoor Gardens, Plant Crafts, Flowers and Home Grounds.

Special Projects – Citizenship, International, Aging Awareness.

Quick Facts about 4-H

Fact #1: Programs are designed for youth in the 1st grade through one year past high school.

Fact #2: You don’t have to own an animal or live on a farm to belong to 4-H. Members live in the city, in suburbs, in towns and in the country.

Fact #3: The whole family is encouraged to participate. Brothers, sisters, moms, dads and sometimes even grandparents get involved! Everybody goes to the same place on the same night for the 4-H club meeting!

Fact #4: 4-H Community Clubs meet monthly – a member is expected to attend at least 5 meetings.

Fact #5: Annual club dues are around $5 a year. Individual project expenses are the responsibility of each family.
