DEPT. 9 - DOGS HEALTH REQUIREMENTS All animals exhibiting at the fair must be free of any contagious, infectious or communicable disease.
Dogs and cats originating from within Wisconsin - Dogs over 5 months of age must have proof of current rabies vaccination.
Dogs and cats originating from outside Wisconsin - All dogs and domestic cats shall be accompanied by a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection and have proof of a current rabies vaccination if the dog or cat is five months old or older. See ATCP 10.80 for specific vaccination information.
The St. Croix County Fair, Inc. requires that all dogs over 4 months of age must have a vaccination status that is current for the following diseases: 1. Canine Distemper 4. Parvovirus 2. Adenovirus Type-two 5. Leptospirosis 3. Parainfluenza 6. Rabies Canine exhibitors are also encouraged to have their dogs vaccinated for the following diseases. Please consult your veterinarian for their recommendation in your specific area. 1. Coronavirus 3. Be on heartworm preventative medication 2. Bordatella (Kennel Cough)
GENERAL RULES 1. Ribbons only (no premiums) will be awarded for Brace and Team Participants 2. Explorers - There is no special class for Explorers. Explorers are allowed to participate in the dog program, but in classes listed. 3. Current County Dog project rules apply.
CLASS A - DOG OBEDIENCE Premiums - Danish Judging: Blue $4.50 Red $3.50 White $1.50 Pink $1.50 Lot No. 1. Pre-Novice A (on leash) - Exhibitor Grades 3 – 7. Neither member or dog has been trained (with the exception of puppy manners) Heel on leash Figure 8 on leash Stand for examination Recall on leash Long sit (1 minutes) Long down (3 minutes)
2. Pre-Novice A (on leash) - Exhibitor 8th Grade and Over. Neither member or dog has been trained (with the exception of puppy manners) Heel on leash Figure 8 on leash Stand for examination Recall on leash Long sit (1 minutes) Long down (3 minutes) 3. Pre-Novice B (on leash) - Exhibitor Grades 3 - 7. Pre-Novice B (on leash) - Exhibitors 8th Grade and Over. For exhibitors who have previously trained or have a dog which was previously trained. CLASS B - DOG SHOWMANSHIP - Exhibitors are required to sign up for showmanship on fair entry forms in order to participate - Dogs in heat cannot enter Showmanship - Exhibitors must have shown in an obedience class in order to show in a showmanship class Premiums, Danish: Blue $3.00 Red $2.50 White $2.00 Pink $1.50 Lot No. 1. Beginners I (Grades 3 - 5), 1st time exhibitor has shown in showmanship 2. Beginners II (Grades 3 - 5), exhibitor has previously shown in showmanship 3. Intermediate (Grades 6 - 8) 1st time exhibitor has shown in showmanship 4. Intermediate (Grades 6 - 8) exhibitor has previously shown showmanship 5. Senior (9th Grade and Over) Champion Ribbon and Plaque awarded to top in each lot Number
