DEPT 15 – FLOWERS, HOUSEPLANTS & LANDSCAPE
CLASS A - FRESH OR DRIED CUT FLOWERS Premiums: Blue $1.75 Red $1.50 White $1.25 Pink $1.00
- Member may bring ten best flowers from their garden - Exhibit must be named (name of variety and state whether annual, perennial, bulb, corm or rose) - Blooms 3 inches or less – exhibit 3 identical blooms - Blooms formed in sprays or clusters – exhibit one spray - Coleus or Hostas – exhibit 3 stems or leaves - Blooms 3 inches or larger or flowers grown on spikes, stalks or large stems and Hybrid Tea Rose – exhibit one - Ornamental grasses – exhibit one small cluster - Everlasting or dried flowers – exhibit 3 stems or sprays - All entries must have foliage attached except for gladiolus, pansies, nasturtiums, calla lilies or coreopsis - All exhibits should be staged in clear glass bottles with narrow necks of appropriate size (no advertising). Clear vases are allowed, the department will not be responsible for breakage. - No two entries of the same variety are allowed (example: variety = Red Sun Zinnias- Zinnias of a different variety are acceptable) - Exhibit must be from your garden - Failure to follow the above rules will result in a lower ribbon Lot No.

CLASS B - ARRANGEMENTS Premiums: Blue $2.50 Red $2.25 White $2.00 Pink $1.75 -Exhibitor may bring three arrangements -Fresh and/or dried materials may be used. No artificial materials or plants on the Wisconsin endangered species list may be used. -Creativity (unique and unusual) will be considered when judged -Name activity where arrangement would be used -Label design type: Line Design – refer to Unit 1, Budding Gardeners Mass Design – refer to Unit 2, Branching Out Line Mass Design – refer to Unit 3, Digging Deeper Mini arrangement not more than 5 inches in height, depth, and width Lot No. 1. CLASS C – CONTAINER PLANTS AND GARDENS
-Member may bring three exhibits -All plants must be named -Exhibit planted and maintained by member -If exhibit is a water garden or too large to bring to the judge, a booklet is acceptable for conference judging. The booklet should have pictures of the exhibit, how you cared for your exhibit, where it is located, etc.

CLASS D – HOUSE PLANTS Premiums: Blue $2.00 Red $1.75 White $ 1.50 Pink $1.25 -Members Grades 4 – 6 may bring 6 plants -Member Grades 7 and over may bring 8 plants -Name each exhibit (Botanical name is a plus) -Exhibit may be grown in water or dirt -Exhibit may be multiple cuttings of same variety to make a fuller pot -Clean your plants only with water -If purchased, exhibit should be in your possession for 3 months, so you know how to care for it -Multiple plants (example: cactus garden) – all plants should be named
