How to Submit an Event

So you want to add an event to the website?  Here's how.

 

 

  1. If you don't already have an account you will need to create one. Otherwise, login on the right side under the Login module.
  2. Once it says Hi <insert name here> you will notice there is another menu called 'User Menu'.
  3. Click Submit an Event.
  4. Fill out the form. Below are descriptions of what each piece is.

    1. Title - The title of the event

    2. Venue is the location of the event. You can also create a new venue if yours is not listed there. Make sure to fill out the form completely so we know the address and can show the visitors a Google map location of the venue.
    3. Category - This will choose under which heading on the home page it is located under. Make sure to choose the right one.
    4. Date & Enddate - Date is the date the event will start. Enddate is only to be used if the event will take place over several days.
    5. Time and Endtime are recommended to be filled in so our visitors know when it starts and how long the event will take place.
    6. Registration section - if you would like for people to register for the event they will also need an account on the 4-H website. This is not required.
    7. Repetition - If you event will take place, for example, every month you can setup a repeating event so you don't have to add the event to the calendar month.
    8. Image - You can add a small image to the event if you would like. This isn't normally done.
    9. Description - If you have further ifnormation for the visitors that you would like to include in the event feel free to add it here. If the visitor clicks on the event they will be able to see the additional notes you have listed here. You only get 1000 characters to describe your event.
    10. If you have any attachments that you would like to include you can add them in the attachments section.
    11. When you are finished you will need to scroll to the top of the page and click Save. It will confirm on the screen that you have successfully submitted an event.
